AHPO Gives Back 2020
2020 was a difficult year for so many, but it also brought an outpouring of generosity and support from our community. Several organization stepped up with requests to support local Veterans and their families. Still Serving Veterans’ Huntsville and Chattahoochee offices have dedicated Veteran Resource Connection Counselors who specialize in connecting the Veterans and their families who need help or access to resources, to those in the community who want and are able to help.
One such part of the community was employees from the Army Hypersonic Project Office (AHPO), Huntsville, AL team. They reached out to Still Serving Veterans’ organization and we connected them to several of our Veteran clients who were facing unimaginable challenges.
Through the tremendous generosity of the AHPO employees who gave of their own time and resources, items valued at nearly $5,000 were collected by employees specifically to meet the needs of five deserving Veterans and their families. On 22 Dec 2020, team members from AHPO and Still Serving Veterans put on their Santa hats and delivered the many gifts and quality of life items to Army Veterans in need across Madison and Limestone County.
Everyone falls on hard times, but it is our job to help them get back up, with pride and purpose. At Still Serving Veterans we serve the most urgent need first and build a future together. With support from our corporate and community partners we are changing the lives of Veteran families who just need a helping hand and a little hope during what has been a very challenging year.
